    Hello:

Does anybody know what this hose connection is for? When the single screw is removed and the part is removed, there is a little valve which is similar to a PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve. This connection is at the top of the head and goes to a connection hose which goes through the firewall. I assume it is a vacuum connection of some kind.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Yup....
That is the connector for the brake booster vacuum tubing (ridged black plastic tubing). It's attached to the brake booster vacuum pump. You don't want to go racin with that line disconnected or you'll end up in the weeds.......:frown2:

    Hose Connection

Thank you very much for this.

Yes, I should have included some vehicle information. This is a 2010 Clubman Cooper S.

Metalman, where did you get this picture from, the new Bentley manual?

Thanks again, that was a big help.

    Regards

The image is from RealOEM A really good site for checking on parts and often assemblies. You put in the last 7 characters of your VIN and all the stuff for your is there.

Moved the thread to the Countryman area and added Brake Booster to the title so if others are searching at some time in the future it has a better chance of being found.

I digress a little...... Re: RealOem....

What I discovered (I'm sure others already know this)....
Once you find a part for something in question.... Put that P/N back in the search field. Many times you'll find the part is used on other years and even over on BMW's. It's kind of funny seeing how BMW will try to get the most out of their tooling investment. I've seen lightbulb sockets that show up on MINI's as well as the full line of BMW's and even over on RR's. I guess a simple thing like a light bulb socket doesn't need to be redesigned every model year.

Anyway that's my tidbit for today.
