An onboard lap 'round the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the Schirra MINI -- claimed to be "the world's fastest Mini Cooper Race Car": [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YLooBx7q2g]World's fastest MINI Race Car Nordschleife Nürburgring VLN Schirra motoring Tracktest sport auto - YouTube[/ame]
That was a cool video. Holy crap that guy was flying around the ring. Did you see how fast he was catching other cars and blowing right by them.....damn.
That is one amazing little Beastie! I would like to know what Engine and Transmission he's using as it is a paddle shifter that must use some sort of ignition cut out as I didn't see him using a clutch. What ever he used it is one fantastic car!
Maybe cause it is a MINI not a P-Car and has the aerodynamics of a barn door. Why so negative, can't you just appreciate what was done here.
I have never driven a turbo so I dont know, but I am assuming that sound every time he lets off the throttle is the blow off ?
The "Brick" playing with GT3's.... Errrr.... This one's for David.O.... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rCEfYCf3pc&hd=1]Mini Cooper S JCW vs Porsche GT3 Nordschleife Touristenfahrten 26.5.2012 - YouTube[/ame]
Hard to see so I'll hazard a guess. It sounded like it was a GT-style sequential shifter. Clutch to get it moving then just pull back for the next gear or push forward to down-shift.
