OK, a little contest here... Who has the most miles on their MINI wins..... I win...... I'm here at the dealer.... They just read the key fob.... My mileage.... Drum roll please... 10,425,164 miles.... Yeah, that's over 10 million miles..... So yeah Jim.... Who doesn't drive their MINI??? Mine's a 2009.... I might suggest I have the highest mileage of any MINI made. I guess I just, in one fell swoop, changed the reliability of the MINI brand, to be the best vehicle made. . Chuck
Interesting.... So you drive on avg 14,281 miles per day or just about 595 miles per hour...every day, 24 hrs per day. Thats one fast MINI.
Tell Heather that she failed to give me anything juicy when I had mine serviced on Monday :blush2: We're going to change your name from MetalMan to LuckyMan :arf:
Nice! Hopefully (and sadly) ill probably never step foot in there ever again with my MINI. Warranty is over lol. Any other visit would probably just make me want another one
I forgot about all the work we did here at MINI MAG. It was quite a long time ago. We fabricated the parts counter top, and the coffee counter in the waiting area. I'm happy it's still holding up quite well.
Well, they got the tach working and the mileage corrected back to 6,500 miles. So I guess my Charlie Sheen "Winning" moment was short lived. I've just been dethroned on the mileage award. My fleeting 15 minutes of fame are all gone. Back to just being MetalMan....
I'm sorry to get this thread back on topic, but.... Who has the highest mileage R56 MCS or JCW? How has the reliability been? Do they really drop timing chains & have tensioners back out? What about the carbon issue? The reason I ask such probing questions is I see me replacing my R53 :yikes: in another year or so. With the next design of the MINI likely to use 3 cyl snowmobile engines I'll need to jump to an R56 MCS or JCW. Thanks for your insight....
Chuck, 55k on my 09 JCW. No carbon problems, had the tensioner replaced as part of a campaign. No other issues at all. Lots of road miles every week. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
Mark I didn't think you'd have carbon issues due to the fact your car is always turning a lot of rpm on the road. Maybe we can issue Riverrun as a TSB service to remove carbon. Thanks for the feedback.
Found a blown fuse.... Possibly from local thunderstorms 3 weeks ago as a power surge through my battery tender. Or so it was suggested. They aren't really sure. Seems like a power surge should have done major damage to my ECU as it was a 5 amp fuse that blew. They replaced the fuse, gave me a spare, did a diagnostic check and all is OK. Strange????
:cornut: Mini Margi 08 R56 MCS/JCW and sadly: 1. timing chain tension oiler/death rattle fix at ~37kmi:mad2: 2. right front axle seal/oil filter housing to block seal/head gasket all replaced at 45kmi:mad2: 3. now have 45.5kmi and praying a lot(I love that little car):aureola: 4. no carbon build up problems(yet). Most of my driving= 70mph(+:lol Jasonopcorn:opcorn:
Interesting, thanks. Maybe you just need to start working on those 10 million miles and forget the battery tender. Jim
