Lead [-] avatar Registered User Posts: 15 Dec 15, 2010 4:36 PM High Plains Raceway wants to say Thank You and Merry Christmas to all the members of the CAMA clubs and our customers who have not only made HPR possible, but have made it very successful in its first two seasons! It is with great pleasure that the CAMA Board of Directors announces that there will be two FREE days of Open Lapping during the week between Christmas and New Years. * The exact two days (between Sunday - Thursday) will be announced via the track hotline (303-769-4771) and email blast on Christmas Eve based on the weather forecast for the following week. * These days will be open to anyone who is a member of any CAMA club or was a customer of HPR in 2010 * Both cars and motorcycles are welcome and will be run in separate sessions (minimum of two sessions - cars and bikes, either group will be broken down further if necessary). * Winter schedule - gates open at 9am, track hot from 10-4 with no lunch break. * Ambulance and Corner Workers will be provided as usual. * Raceway Café will be closed so bring snacks and drinks. * Giveaways on both days! Come on out and say goodbye to 2010 in style at YOUR TRACK, High Plains Raceway! Glenn Conser HPR General Manager Don't call me, call the number or see the HPR website. You might see me lapping or speed testing. Don
Will snow tires be required? I really want to come out and run this track this year - I'll be watching your site to see when our schedules can line up!
Perhaps not on the snow tires, but you might think some ice pikes if the weather decides to belly up.
For those who may be interested, free track days if the weather holds are Sunday and Tuesday after Christmas. 9AM paddock is open, track time is 10AM to 4PM. Bring your own food and water. Helmet and long sleeve cotton top/shirt, car set for track. Don
Sunday was good, going out again Tuesday AM, I hope weather holds in the high 40s. Posted some quick pictures here: LINK. I did not get my MINI on track but got a stellar ride in the DarkBlue 03 in the fast group. Don
Tuesday was better, since I got in a few sessions. Might need some new rotors in the Spring, but good for now. Started out at around 30 degrees but it warmed up into the high 40s by the time I wrapped it up. I did find out the MINI will drift and power out of a corner with the NITTO NeoGen's in 215/45/17. :ihih: Link to some pictures, hopefully a couple of the MINIs on track will show up from some folks clicking around the track. If so, I will link them up. LINK Really looking forward to Spring and some more track time. Don
And for those who have no seen or heard of HPR. Here is a video of 2 laps shot by one of our 5280 members. He is chasing me. YouTube link. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4ESf_GaToE&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - HPR Free Lap Day 12-28-2010[/ame]
