As of late I have been noticing the boost from the sc kicking in at 4k, backing off, then kicking in again. All in between 4 & 6k. This is all with full throttle. Any ideas?

I put in a DT bypass valve less than a year ago. Would it fail this soon?

what are you using to determine the boost and the rpm range?

The unusual behavior you describe does not sound of the normal suspects.

Boost gauge and looking at the speedo. Belt is new within 3k.

    Auto or manual trans?

And what year is your car? Sometimes the 05-06 cars don't like the DT bypass valve.

Ditch the DT bypass valve and see if that helps.

Otherwise PM BlimeyCabrio. He's got an 06 auto and knows all there is to know about intermittent boost problems, bypass valves, and the R53 auto tranny.

Get a smoke test done and see if you have any leaks, then go from there. 2cents

Yeah, that's another good thought. Sometimes the intercooler boots develop cracks and holes, too.
