Has anyone installed side scuttle accents on their f56. I just installed the grey and black checkered side view mirror caps, and was thinking of adding the scuttle accents to complement the look (also in grey and black checkered flag). No installation videos on youtube, and am concerned about the adhesive that is recommended for installation (ease of removal if I change my mind at some point). Any pics or guidance would be appreciated. I like the scuttle replacements for pre - 2014 minis, but I am still undecided about the scuttle accents on the latest gen. minis. I guess I wont know until I install, but that is a $175 crap shoot.

Thats a good one. Used my best Google powers and am coming up blank, save for the same question elsewhere. Please share if the answer is found elsewhere.

If you are at all mechanically inclined, and close to your local dealer... ask if they have any replacement scuttles in stock to look at. You should be able to figure out how they attach... which would give you the insight on how to get the current ones off.

Thanks guys. Haven't personally seen the surround accents anywhere. The install seems straightforward, but don't want to damage paint with the strong adhesive recommended if I decide to remove them at some point. Maybe I'll just use 3m two sided tape. Well, I think I'll roll the dice. Would love to see more detailed pics. The ones online photos are just close ups and don't give enough perspective for me. I'll post pics when / if I install.

We have been doing the 3M tape. Have some on one of our loaners ,and have done quite a few on customer cars. They have held up well. We were worried about the same thing using the adhesive.

The 3M automotive tape is a great way to go. That stuff is very strong & lasts the lifetime of the car.

Thanks for the advice on the 3m tape. That's the way I'll go.

Just ordered side scuttles accents from eMINIparts. Price was great, can't wait to receive. I am kind of new to the site, and did not connect eMINIparts as a sponsor and, as a result, did not go to the site for my side view mirror caps (black and grey checkered flag). Now that I know, hope to bring my business there often. Thanks again for advice

So, scuttles accents arrived. Scuttles popped out very easily. Dry fitted in scuttle accents. Just to be clear, the 3m tape or glue will be the only thing holding the assembly in place... spring clip on top side of scuttles and clips on bottom do not extend far enough to clip to side of car fender once the scuttle is clipped to the accent. Am I right? Thanks for feedback. Also, the tape I got is called 3m super strength molding tape (says its for moldings, rocker panels, emblems, cladding). Does that sound right? Tape pic below.

Well, the scuttle accents are installed, and it was rather an easy job, thanks to the advice of some other f56 owners. Below are two pics.

Now that I've seen yours, I sorta wish I hadn't already ordered the JCW Pro mirror caps. Would have looked good on my thunder grey car.
