    :cornut: This thread is in the 2nd Gen.(R55-56) Cooper S/Clubman S engine mod section but if R53 people want to jump in(they do have intercoolers), go ahead just make sure and every one ID our cars correctly. So I have a ScanGauge II and many others have gauges monitoring the intake air temp(post intercooler) and I thought that we might compare notes. Margi(08 R56 BRG MCS/JCWm) has the MINI factory front mounted intercooler but she also has the ALTA turbo intercooler air diverter which has lowered the I.A.T. considerably. The following numbers are for ambient temps and A.I.T. on Margi.

    Ambient Temps..............A.I.T.(speeds are 55-75mph sustained speed)
    1.Below 50F..................5-6F above ambient
    2.51-90F......................7-9F above ambient
    3.91F and above............10-12F above ambient

    How's your(OEM, Aftermarket, Top Mount, Front Mount, With or Without Air Diverter) Intercooler doing?:Thumbsup:

    I don't measure mine but when I was tuning with Jan one time (not on Dyno) but at the Dragon I was getting 15- 20 degrees below ambient off of the tuning laptop via the ODB 2 port.

    I was doing full 7500 RPM pulls from the lower entrance by the gas station to the top entrance 1st, 2nd, 3rd slow down and turn back into Fontana.

    Then again I am running 100 % Meth. :devil::lol:

    I assume these are all during a steady state cruising speed?

    :cornut: You can use your R53 values as long as you say that they are R53 values. DaveO forgot but EVERYONE knows that he only drives R53s.:lol::lol::lol:

    I have a 2012 R58 JCW with a ScanGauge2. My temps are pretty much

    the same as yours. The only mods under the hood are a NM intake and a

    cc.

    It's in my signature below, but everyone knows Mini stopped making real Minis after 2006.

    Forge FMIC within 1 to 2 degrees of ambient here in South FL. Temps up to 95 degrees same speeds as the OP. Around town <30mph about a 4 degree split. Stuck in stop and go with AC on in boiling summer heat I've seen it climb 10-14 degrees above ambient. That was before I wrapped the DP in DEI Titanium heat wrap. Hasn't got that hot since then so I can't say about now.
