Well that was uneventful. Update was quick to download and install even if it was only an hour after it was released. Color me surprised it was so fast this time.
Took about 30 min in the iPhone and even less on the iPad. Both are snappier now. Browsing sites is much better. Apps seem to open just a few milliseconds faster now.
My iPad has Siri now! Bwahahahaha My 12 year old was playing with it, and it said "you can't make calls with this device, but you can use FaceTime My son says "Facetime sucks, Siri" Siri says "Sucks Siri doesn't appear to be in your contacts" lol
My wife's 4S was a lot faster to update. Close to the 30 minutes. Looks like we need to trade phones or I order an 5!
It's for all. Back up your phone, justa plug it into your computer and let it sync Plug the phone into a charger. Go to Settings, General, Software Update to download and install. Let it be for a bit to do it's thing. You'll have a few questions to answer when it comes back up, nothing complex. Check for updated apps and install. There will be a flood of updated apps over the next few days. With a justa4 phone a fair bit of the updates don't apply to you. Like Siri and the 3D mapping.
Oh...and if you are getting the message "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" when opening Passbook. Do this... Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again.
My 4 did not update very well. First it did not want to connect to my wireless network. Fixed that. But now it will not connect to the iTunes Store while trying to update all my Apps
No problems with my 4. Took less than 45 min all in - maybe significantly less but I was mowing the lawn
One thing i OS6 did was to break my itunes. They broke podcasts out of the music app into a separate app. Now I can no longer access podcasts through the MINI's stereo interface. Thanks Apple.
Apple has a message for iPhone 5 buyers, but I think the sentiment at the very end of the video applies in your case as well. (Possibly NSFW or those easily offended) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AD5Fx4QrqU[/ame]
My 4 downloaded it in about 18 minutes and only one app got updated. Guess the speed depends on.......well.....on something. Now if I could get rid of all this "other" that is taking up a lot of room. :mad2: Jim
