So... Sordo will be testing and showing off just how capable the more affordable MINI SPC entry so we can sell more of these.
That's exactly the way I read it. I'm confused though as to why they didn't have Kris Meeke do this. I know Wilcock says it will be good practice for Sordo even though the car will be somewhat different but if the main goal is to raise IRC interest in the car by running an IRC round why not use the 2009 IRC Champion driver? He's already under contract.

In three stages today, Dani Sordo placed 2nd in the first two and 4th in the next. He's currently third overall, 2.8sec behind the leader. Corsica day 1: The 2012 IRC hots up (MaxRally.com)
Is it just me, or does it look like Dani is almost always in third? Not a bad place, but it seems to be his spot. Jim
I wonder if he's noticed that... He's up to 2nd now though thanks to Basso's unfortunate accident on the road after today's 3rd (final) stage ended. Basso regrets lost opportunity (MaxRally.com)

End of Day 2: Sordo has the advantage before last day (best-of-rallylive.com) Video here of the cars circling the church mentioned above. Also very interesting to see the MINI's under tray and how they get it in place. With Dani Sordo heading toward his first ever win ( :fingerscrossed: ) in a major rally (see story above) I like the ProDrive connection from this story to the current Corsica rally. Corsica has been good to ProDrive, here's hoping that holds for Dani tomorrow. :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: Classic Corsica: Shakedown crasher becomes rally winner (MaxRally.com)

More of an article about how Eurosport covers the rally but still an update on the running status. Dani still in front. Campana (currently 2nd) was one of the MINI WRC customer team drivers last year. SS10: Eurosport at work (best-of-rallylive.com)
