The Ilse of Man TT is currently showing on Velocity, several hours of it. I am pretty sure it will be re-broadcast if you want to catch it all.
+1 on the big clangies. Open-road racing, with stone walls, buildings, trees, etc. Friggen' fast. Spectating in person someday is on my bucket list.
Let alone the free roaming animals that have been hit at speed.. This event is the countries main source of income.. If you go rent a bike while there as they let you do FULL SPEED laps on a certain day of the event..I'd also opt for the insurance!!!!
Last Friday I was 18 miles from there in Scotland. Would have loved to cross the Irish sea to be there but it wasn't on the list. Those country lanes and roads are scary when it's dry, it rains often. Those guys that run there are way over the top as the most daring motorcycle racers ever. The Isle of Man is a tax haven if you can afford it. Anyone with real money has property on the Isle of Mann.
You don't see any/many American racers in it, as it's "too crazy" lol. I wish I could find the article, but it seems there are very few American superbike racers that would take it on, but, share an amazing respect for those that do, and the course it self.
