I understand that the verdict is split on the "look and feel" of OEM gauges for R56/R55... Some (most) hate it, some (including me) like it.
I like them mostly because those are OEM instruments (installed by dealer's service and covered by warranty). I am not a fan of numerous DIY kits and mounts I have seen on various MINI forums (including this one:cornut:). Cutting the wires or tanks or pipes to install is not "my forte"...

Yes, some third party manuf. make some nice looking clocks, but after installing my JCW temp. gauge today I liked what I got. You be the judge.

I still like it as well: I transferred the gauge from my "old" Clubman to the curent one, together with all other OEM mods... Charge was only 2hours of labor (gauge, arm rest, steering wheel and front lights trim rings)...

I threw the sport gauges on my Countryman... I think they're great!

I have the OEM sport Gage's on my MCS. I really like having the temp gage especially. I don't understand why MINI doesn't include a temp gage as standard.

:cornut: It looks very nice to me. It does look nicer than my 'ScanGauge II'. Variety is the spice of life however and as such my ScanGauge gives me tons more real time info. Just me.
