    Q: What is BevMo?

A: A Club type corporate liquor store for beer, wine, spirits, etc.

    Q: Why they boycott?

BevMo now wants to scan your driver's license in order to sell you anything. Even if you are paying cash. Just showing them your ID is not enough.

This is their new corporate policy. No other retailer does this. While they say that it's to verify that the birth date on your ID has not been tampered with, there is no way to verify that they are not data gathering, or how secure the device that does the scanning is.

Boycott BevMo until they change this stupid ass policy. Don't let the corporations take yet another advantage of you.

    Power to the drinkers!!!!

You know if you purchase items there and use a BevMo rewards card, you are giving them a lot more personal info than an ID scan gets.

Depends on the info you gave them to start with. And if they already have it, there should not be a reason for them to collect it again.

How can they req more than the state regs req?

We have a little diner/cafe at our local airport and they tried last year to force people to only pay with plastic, no paper or coin money would be accepted. This was until an out of state bigwig flew in and ended up calling the Sheriff's dept because they wouldn't take his legal tender. The deputy ended up talking the customer into paying with plastic, but he ended up getting his lawyer to send a letter clearly stating the law that makes paper money legal tender for all debts and bills. They are now accepting paper money again.....lol
