We are most likely joining the Countryman club soon. We went and talked to Cincy MINI tonight and will be talking to MAG on Saturday after the breakfast. Cincy found a Surf Blue and White Countryman S in Minnesota for me they are willing to bring here. Just waiting to hear back on payment amounts and we might be in business!!!
Test drove a Coupe tonight as well, and let's just say there was an insane amount of "giggling" and it wasn't the co-pilot!

We are pretty much set on ordering ours now. It will definitely be Surf Blue & Whtie. Cincy offered more for the LRW than MAG so we have to talk everything through.
Yay Carmax!! Offered us $1500 more than Cincy and $1000 more than MAG. Unfortunately that price is only good for 7 days! Definitely can't be down one MINI for 8 weeks so...Let the "how quick can you get the car from Minnesota negotiations" commence!
I figure we can expand the "7 day offer" from carmax by taking the Clubman in every 5 days... if they offer less, we still have an offer that is good for "2 more days" to fall back on! Surely they won't notice us doing this for 8 weeks while we wait for a CM build to float it's way across the pond, right?!
CarMax tracks the hell out of that stuff. A co-worker used to work there and they have been around long enough to know all the schemes people could try. Another friend told me they took their car to Sawmill and got a quote in 45 minutes, drive to Easton and within 5 minutes they were out the door with a "nice try."
Haha we aren't ACTUALLY thinking of doing that! Things are getting better. The dealership in Minnesota is offering us $1000 off for a loyalty discount since we have 2 MINIs in the driveway already. They are also offering to ship the car here for us. We are waiting to see how much that will cost... :/ Either way it gives us more ammo for the dealers around here if they want to sell us the car as opposed to Minnesota.
Shipping a car shouldn't be too expensive. My old boss bought a car from Florida and I want to say it was $400 to have it shipped to Columbus. It is really cool to have a car delivered to your house as well Just double check that a plane ticket and gas wouldn't be cheaper, it would also get you closer to the breakin period being over!
We looked into plane tickets and it would be $400 to fly there and then gas & food to get back the 12 hour drive. They are quoting us $500 to ship it here from MN. Robb is trying to get them to wave that fee since there is one in Cleveland that is also almost perfect....

And the winner is CLEVELAND! Putting a deposit down tonight and hopefully doing a road trip to pick it up Thursday. The Cleveland car was already $1000 cheaper than the MN one, plus they took $500 off the already cheaper price. It has a black roof and mirror caps currently so they are replacing the caps with black jack ones at no cost to us and we will have the roof either done in black jack or wrapped white at the dragon this year. Anybody want to volunteer to drive us to Cleveland so we only have to take 1 car home j/k hahaha
