Every year our little MINI Club, Metroplex MINI, participates in a July 4th parade that wends it's way through the town of Double Oak, TX. The volunteer fire dept puts on the parade that ends with a community picnic. This was the 5th year the MINI's have been in the parade and my third year. Pictures can be seen at sannton : photos : Double Oak Parade Sorry, no pics of my car there, but being the consistent person I am for the 3rd year there were additional decorations on or in my car. Someone has to have that OEM look and I sacrifice to do so...
Very cool. The Chicago MINI Motoring Club participated in a parade south of the city in Oak Lawn. We only had a half dozen cars due to crappy weather, but we had a good time. My photos are Here
Thats the person that posted the pictures. Goes by Vader on MetrolexMINI.org. That car normally only see's the track.
Nathan...your MINI wasn't the only angry MINI there! I heard a couple of more stories about you "racers" and your cars not fairing very well after the slow moving parade! A couple of hot, cranky MINIs sacrificed for a good cause!!
I have the other "Angry" MINI and it did not like the slow speeds!!! The clutch was slipping on the way home after the parade but it did finally start to grab after about 20 miles... I broke the clutch in just like you told me Nathan!
Yeah...I destroyed a set of plugs plodding along at 2mph. Todd, clutch probably got a glaze on it from having to slip it so much. Next time leave some space between yuo and the car ahead and let it fully grab, slipping it is bad.
