Hi Everyone, I live in NH and just bought a 2003 Mini Cooper S, BRG with white roof and mirrors. 86,000 miles. Previous owner added a Borla Exhaust. When starting off in 1st gear from a stop there is a slight sound like a cat howl. Has happened in reverse once. I have read numerous posts and have it narrowed down to throw out bearing, belt tensioner or a brake caliper hanging up slightly. Car runs and shifts great. Any thoughts. Also stock wheels are 17" can I run smaller ones with snow tires? Thanks in advance. Mike
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. You can run a smaller wheel, as small as a 15" in diameter.
Welcome many times we've seen howl noise be a clutch, if that's the case let it go till it fails due to the cost. I've seen cars go years making that noise.
My MINI makes the chewbacka noise intermittently. I find it an endearing trait. So far so good. :fingerscrossed:  Welcome to M/A
