Hello all, This is my first post!!! A week ago i ordered my first Mini after months of test driving cars and driving dealers nuts. I was all over the place with what i should get. I looked at the Focus ST, GTI, Volvo C30, and S60. In the end i chose the Mini because it seemed like the most fun and i find it to be very unique compared to everything else out there. Now i have to go through the painful process of waiting. Anyone who ordered there car please chime in on how long it took and how excruciating the wait was. Oh, i ordered a JCW Hardtop in Eclipse Gray with Black Roof black stripes chrome mirror caps and black 17" challenge spokes. I tried to make a cew last minute changes but it is too late
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. The wait is difficult, however. Your patience shall be rewarded.
:cornut: You chose a very good MINI to be built for you. You'll have a lot of fun in that MINI. Welcome to MA. Mini started building my MARGI(08 R56 BRG MCS/JCWm) in early Dec 07 and I picked her up at MINI of Dallas,TX in early Feb 08 so ~2mos. Jason
Welcome to M/A and to the MINI world! There are many options to mod your MINI after it arrives... so don't worry that you didn't get all of the options ordered. Ordering one is the way to go. I ordered 2 MINI's and my wife is currently waiting for her Countryman to arrive to the US in a few days. Detroit Tuned MINI Cooper Tunning is one place to get your MINI serviced and have mods installed. Depending on where you're located (I'm in Michigan) and it took 8 weeks from order to delivery of my JCW. If you're, let's say in Cali, it'll take longer. Ask your Motoring Advisor (MA) and they'll have a better idea. You can track your MINI as well, from where it is at the plant to which boat it's on and track the boat in the ocean. Here you'll find all the info you'll need to track your MINI: http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/mini-stuff/4824-how-track-your-mini-factory-dealer.html#axzz2XtB6ezgv The wait is worth it!!! Chris
Welcome! As a new MINI owner too (since 1/26/13) you'll really like the fun part of the MINI driving/ownership experience. Bertie arrived 6 weeks from when the order was placed. Our dealer changed the configuration of one they had on order to match my specs, so that may have helped get it quicker. He did say that was about the fastest he'd had one come in from order date to delivery that he could remember. Us the tracking system to follow progress, it give you fun updates. But it does tend to lag a little. It showed ours at the arrival center when we got the phone call it was at the dealer. Enjoy the ride!
the one thing that makes the wait bearable is being able to track your Mini once it's built. The folks here turned me on to a couple of cool sites where I found exactly when my car was loaded, the ship name, it's ports of call departures and expected arrival date in Baltimore, and I can even track it's journey(not quite real time, but close) as it steams toward the US.... very cool! JCW, the only way to fly....
Eta So the ask Mini people say the car is due in at the Jersey Port on the 25th. My dealer sais the ETA is tomorrow the 19th. Which information should i be going with. Obviously i hope the dealer is accurate!!!
I'd go with the ASK MINI date and keep that in my head, that way if it does show at the dealer earlier it's a good surprise.
