How'd you get the wheels to blur without a driver???

I did not take the shots, some college kids I know took them, so I am not 100% sure, but they have a long pole suctioned on to the hood, with a camera at the other end, then they just push the car, it's only going a couple miles per hour. The speed effect has to do with the lens type they use, and then they photoshop the pole out of the pic.

Some new pics from the track

I recently took my car to a couple of tracks here in So. Cal. Here are some pics, if you have the inclination I highly recommend it.

Did either of the events give you any hassle about rollover protection with the cabrio? I know this has been a concern with certain organizations.

BTW: On-track pics look awesome! THAT'S what it's all about!

The last two pics look like SOW.

Dave, I've had some luck with some of the local guys allowing me to run with factory rollover protection. Speedventures is one of them. BMWCCA still treats it as a no-no.

    Hey Dave,
Both Buttonwillow Performance Driving Clinic and Speed Ventures allowed my car, as did Extreme Speed Track Events. But I have learned you have to check in advance.

 No kidding!!! Now that I have been bitten by the track bug, I am looking at better suspension mods, i.e coilovers, camber plates and the like, and maybe an LSD.

Those pictures are really great, they sound like very creative photographers. I'm still trying to figure out how they did the thing with the pole.

The car is shown off perfectly! I love MINI photography

Thanks!! It's just a trick, they photoshop the pole out of the pic. The car just gets pushed by hand, it's going maybe 1 MPH.

It's the part about suction cupping my expensive DSLR with a nice wide angle lens onto the bonnet that scares me. but I guess if the cars going that slow, someone can walk with the camera.

How long was the pole? I'm thinking it was a suction cup Monopod
