As long as I have my TR6 and the MINI I'll have a stick shift! They probably said the same thing 10 years ago.... Still here
Sorry to say that the hand writing is on the wall. Sticks are going the way of the dinosaur. That is a sad thing for sure. :frown2:
Ferrari no longer offers a car with a clutch pedal. Even cars like the Ford Focus and VW GTI are heading towards DSG boxes. They are all technically NOT automatic transmissions in the strict sense of the word since they don't have torque converters. Also, they can shift far faster than any human can but are not as fun to drive.
"extinct in 15-20 years", they said. I'm sure that's true, since transmissions aren't needed in electric cars
