I' m going to try to keep a blog of sorts from MOTD. Day 1 - Sunday Not much to report yet, but I am 800 some miles closer now than I was this morning. Thankfully uneventful drive. Avg 22.4 MPG Avg 75.4 MPH Drove 873 miles today. Plano, TX to Sweetwater, TN. Don't try the BBQ here in Sweetwater, yikes. Off to Fontana tomorrow via the Cherahola Skyway. Sorry, no pics today, would just be a bug splattered MINI anyway, like we haven't seen a few of those.
I'll be watching this closely for the next few days while I'm [unfortunately] working. Thursday morning can't come soon enough.
I'm leaving Pittsburgh around 4:30 AM Monday with my Group 4 Autosport track car and a bunch of equipment (well as much as you can cram in a MINI anyway). Be there Monday evening along with the PittstopMINI club folks.

I'll be sliding in Thursday evening. See everyone on Friday and Saturday. I have a cabin up the hill behind the General Store - one of the red-roofed cabins. If you see Blimey in the driveway, stop by and say hello!
Monday - I'm here. Here being Fontana Village. It's wet! Rained all the way across the Cherahola Skyway and once above 3'K I was in a cloud. At times the visibility was barely beyond the bonnet. Made for an interesting drive. Gas at the Texaco in Robbinsville was 3.19, fill up someplace else if you can. Paid 2.89 for Shell in Sweetwater. Haven't seen any other MINIs yet. Off to the Crossroads of Time for lunch and mildly spirited drive on Hellbender.

Tuesday - The word of the day is Rain, add cold in there too. Props to The Chad for The Tent. As to those G4 updates, haven't seen the parts yet. I've been busy with stuffing swag bags and watching Chad take apart a rear suspension. Enough from me, time for a drive.
I got to Fontana about 12:30 today. Unloaded and went to Deals Gap for lunch. We ran the Dragon and Hell Bender in the rain. The rock slide is beyond where we normally turn around. The sun was out at the end of the Dragon, but it is still raining in Fontana. The two cops on the Dragon were sitting still and weren’t looking to write tickets.
Sorry to report there has been a MINI causulty. Driver is OK, brusied shins. Slid off Hellbender. The car from what has been said in not in such great shape. Raining like hell now with a bit hail, pics are going to have to wait. Remeber folks, drive carefully...
