I thought I would pass this along to my MINI friends. Each year the largest Cobra replica car show in the US takes place in the great town of London Ohio. (Just outside of Columbus Ohio). Anyway, it is a fun time to come out to small town america and have a great time at the car show and the town's strawberry festival. Two items of note. The Cobra club from central ohio works all year to raise funds for the fight to cure Cystic Fibrosis. One of the events you can participate in at the event is that the Cobra owner's will take you on a ride in their cobra for a small donation ($10 bucks last year). Oh and it isn't just a ride. The cops shut down mainstreet in town and let the cobras fly. I mean they are pushing 100MPH right through town. It is a blast of a ride. Also, if you want your own cobra you can buy a raffle ticket for $20. The prize is a brand new replica Cobra with all the trimmings. I have been to the event for the last several years and for as long as I can recall the winner is always someone that only bought a single $20 ticket. Check out the show site here for all the info.
Wish I had heard of this earlier, online sales of the raffle tickets ended on the 10th.. Good luck...
I'm in for going to the Cobra show. I'd love to have a 427 Cobra Replica...it's like having a roaster sports car and a street rod in one :biggrin5:
Hope someone post some pics or video of them running thru town!!! Make mine a 427 be it a new stroker motor, or a side oiler from back in the day!!!
Mark the last few years there have been a group of Cobra guys that came up to the vintage races at Mid-Ohio. Sort of a Cobra mini show right there in the infield. Maybe your only way for a build, but mine would be a 289 FIA replica. It's a nice dream ride.
There is group around here who drive Cobra's and Healey 3000's. I see them on drives, but I don't know who they are. Jim
I am not exactly close enough to attend, but I did buy a few tickets, it is a good cause after all. I am sure there will be some great pics and video to check out.
I am with Chuck give me a 289 pepper white with navy blue stripes and side pipes. People always forget it was teh 289's that won the races! That and the fender flares look a bit cartoonie to me
