Hi All, I've been a MINI lover from a far for years. A new car looks to be in my near future and I would love for it to be a MINI Cooper. I am a complete newbie when it comes to all of this. I know the basics about cars but what are the differences between say an 2004 Cooper and a 2010 Cooper? I know I would like a 6 speed and the winter package. I know I don't want a Clubman, Coupe, Convertible or all that jazz. A Cooper or Cooper S would be great. With these cars where do the miles really start to make a difference in wear and value? MPG are a consideration but not a deal breaker. I'm not sure where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Lost but Hopeful in NH
Welcome Aboard! There are a lot of good post on the board about what to look for and the differences between cars. There are some years that are better than others just like wine. The mileage on a car depends on how it was taken care of. Do you research on what you want. Then when you are looking research the car. Ask your local dealer to check the service history. Get a Car Fax, it won't tell you everything but it will help. Also contact you local MINI group. They own the cars and will be a great source help and support.
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. Please take a look at this thread. http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/mini-stuff/15207-differences-between-1st-2nd-generation-minis.html#axzz2jIw7XBSc That will give you the basic differences between the 1st and 2nd generation MINIs.
Welcome to M/A and good luck in your search! One of the differences is 2002-2006 hardtop MINI is supercharged, 2007 + has turbo Chris
