Holy crap, why have I never even heard of this car?!?! :eek6: Amazing and gorgeous...that is, if I ignore the paint job on the copy they use in most of the video (and in the Autoblog gallery) -- not my cup of tea. Important advice: Be sure the volume is turned up to 11 before you get to 18 sec in the video. (the magic sounds come back again at 3:40) Lucra LC470 is the wildest car you've never heard of (Autoblog.com) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EbQjzZbwQM]2,000lbs and Over 600hp! :cornut: Thanks Steve, made my day. The Ghost of Carrol Shelby and the Cobra have returned and updated to the 21st century. NICE CAR! Dream: that car with 'night vision and flir', on a moonless night, on IH10/IH8 in New Mexico and Arizona, plenty of Smokies around who can neither see you(except on radar) nor catch you......................................:arf:::devil::eek6::lol::lol: Jason Addendum: Compared with equivalent European cars, very reasonable pricing and IT'S AMERICAN! Just a tetch out of my price range though.

Puts me in mind of I believe it was the Austin Ace Bristol that became the foundation of Carroll Shelby's Legendary AC Shelby Cobra's. It also weighed in around 2000 lbs. and when fitted with the Legendary Ford 427 side oiler dry sump NASCAR engine was putting out in the neighborhood of 600+ H.P. and would run the quarter mile in the low 10's or upper 9 second range. And with the Nodular 9" Legendary Ford rear end with 3.08 gears and the Detroit locker would top out at over 200 MPH! It had a tubular frame also but a hand formed Aluminum body.
^ You are mostly correct. No Austin in the AC Bristol. For me the 289 FIA Cobra is the one that makes my heart beat faster. :drool I'll take mine in Cobra blue with white stripes.
I dunno.......for not much more you can buy a 430hp, 1100lb, all wheel drive car from Dennis Palatov..... I mean, if light weight is what you're after...... However, his is a single seat, strictly track day car, although he also offers a "big Atom" too, with the same GM motor.....the D2, that is streetable. The D1 comes with a Hartley V-8 - which is basically two Hayabusas joined at a proprietary crankcase, normally aspirated, driving thru a custom Hewland gearbox and driving all 4 wheels, weighing just 1100lbs plus the driver.
