For better or worse, I'm heading to Germany on Sunday (Mother's Day....I'm sure I'll be in hot water for that). I've got a meeting west of Munich on Tues, a tech training there Wed, then on Thurs I head west to Stuttgart to see some friends for the weekend. On the intinerary - the Porsche Museum and Factory Tour. We might hit the 'ring though Hockenheim is closer. Suggestions on what else to do while there?? ibJerrysaysGermanbeerwench
Well, while I was on lay over there for a few days some years back I did visit some of the night entertainment spots. But I was single and I am sure your wife will object to that even more then your leaving on Mother's Day.
Besides take a few pictures to share with us? Well, maybe find a race to attend. That would kick ass.
we're talking about it. Timing might be the issue...the autobahn is under construction between Stuttgart and Munich so we might be asking to fit too much in. I need to check with my buddy to see what his work schedule is...he might not be available to roll with me until the weekend. I do have his Stage II 04 Subaru STI on Whiteline/KW's I can 'borrow'
How long are you going to be here for? I'm in Stuttgart and will be through next April. I'm currently trying to figure out how to get my Mini here from the UK that I just won on ebay... Too bad you weren't here sooner as you just missed Frühlingsfest in Stuttgart.
I know...my buddy told me I missed it. I'm in Stuttgart from Thurs-Sun. Flight out around 5pm Sunday.
well I'm here and settled in at the hotel in Garching-nord. There's a huge BMW distro place across the street with a dealer attached (MINI too). Saw four Jcw on the way here one a clubman. Only in Germany is the taxi an S Class and takes you at 200kph. At least I got my $50 worth out of the 18 mile ride from the airport
Yep, I saw that back in 1979 and a few times since. Always made me chuckle that one country's taxi cab is another country's luxury ride. Curious what the Germans think/thought of Caprice Classics and Crown Vics.
That would be really cool but it does seem excessive. There are plenty of cheaper cars that would pull off cab duty just fine. I know it's different over there but I sure would never trust any of the cabbies here at 200KPH, I barely trust them at 60KPH.
these are not typical NYC cabbies where ESL. In other news, I found out the BMW place across from the hotel is M gmbh - the customizing house for individual customer orders.
