Check this out for shiny; 20 screaming polishers, 50 pounds of polish, 600+ man hours...... - Autopia.org Mark
I've seen a number of B-17's, but not one with the nose turret or a 50 on each side in the nose. Odd set up for one person to man. Anyone know what model this one is? Jim
If I recall correctly that was actually manned by two people in the nose. One was the bombardier and the other was a navigator. Found a diagram at: http://www.azcaf.org/pages/crew.html#
Thanks. B-17G which came out late war. You were correct. Navagator worked the cheek guns, which must have been hard jumping back and forth from gun to gun and the bombardier the turret. Jim
