I have an R56S, since 2008 and i think its time to make it look like a mini challenge, but not only as far as looks is concerned but also implement changes under the bonnet too! But im not a technician, i have absolutely no idea what changes are made inside? Can some one notify me plz?
The Challenge cars have different programming. Engines are JCW versions with revised turbos, different gearboxes and I think but am not sure there may be revised internals too. They also came with air jacks I think. There are very few Challenge cars here in the US and this being a mostly US site we don't see them very often at all. I would recommend that you contact some of the teams running MINI Challenge cars over in Europe. Please let us know your findings.
It's quite possible to mimic the external look tot he MINI Challenge cars though. That's a longer term project of mine, but my MINI will still maintain the same cabin, no rear seat delete or roll cage and while I do track my MINI and Autocross it, I see the car as more of a daily driving showpiece.
I believe Randy Smalley at RSR racing has a Challenge car (at least he did) if you want to look at one.
Have a few pics taken a couple of years ago at Roebling Road Raceway of one that I can forward to the OP.
You can find a list of UK based teams at MINI Challenge - MINI Challenge UK Air Jacks, the video says it all... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jDK6HGLNRQ]Corvette racecar Air Jack system test - YouTube[/ame]
