For those in Central Ohio that are not going on the Mid-Ohio Motoring run this Saturday, you may want to catch the Mecum Auction of Bob Mc Dorman's Corvette and Classic Chevrolet collection in Canal Winchester, Ohio. This may be the best Corvette collection in the country. Check out the listing: Mecum Auction - The Bob McDorman Collection Consignment List Corvettes start on page 5
I saw that in the paper this morning...... wonder if he's gonna have any "Umbrella Girls" there? Sounds like he needs to sell off a part of his collection to cover bills...... sad day! The last auction he got $2 million for his old automotive signs and things.
Don't tempt me with the umbrella girls :ihih: I may become among the missing during the fall run...NOT
I could not believe the number of first off the line cars he has there. Also that he was one year away from having an example from every year. I read that they thought they would be short a few years and the missing year car was sold in the past 18 months. The read deals will be the 80-00 cars buy low now sell high in a couple decades
My want list: 56 Nomad wagon I love the short fin cars 69 Pace car convertable with the big engine 75 Vette in Orange 96 Grand Sport
I agree with the vette My dream is a 77 black stingray with a T-top...i'm drooling a little just thinking about it...
haha the 75 only got me because that is when I was born and orange is my favorite color. For me the dream vette would be a red split window. Growing up my neighbor's son did a frame off restoration in their garage. I remember watching that car become a pile of parts and then return to a spotless car. Man did that car sound incredible when he was done.
Alan, Page 6, Lot 71, a red 1963 Corvette Coupe, aka - Red Split Window. You need to make a trip to the bank and get an open end cashiers check for your purchase on Saturday :yesnod:
Yea I will be very interested to see what that car brings in, something about a design that goes away after 1 year makes for crazy high prices.
