<snark>Oh great... now I've gotta hear 'em prattle on about how the MC40 is such a special version. Yep... Sure... Add some JCW dash panels, magnetic stickers and leather seat covers. Woo... very special. </snark> It will be nice to see 'em work on an R53 and to see what they have to say.
I miss Ed. But I plan on watching this one. @Qik I don't know if the Gen1 handles better but you feel more connected to the road, they are more visceral. I Love driving the Helmet but it is so refined compared to my Gen1 Even my wife says her Gen2 convertible is as she says fancy. If any els misses Ed here is his YouTube channel he does a show called Edducated
Ah gotcha, more of a raw driving experience. And to be clear, I miss Ed too but the new guy isn't all bad. He does good work like Ed, he's just not as refined. Also in this episode they put on MSD ignition instead of OE. Was kinda disappointed in that but otherwise it's pretty cool to see an R53 on one of my favorite Velocity shows.
Could not start a new thread so check this out. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-austin-mini-cooper-s-2/
I just watched the MC40 edition of Wheeler Dealers. It was surprisingly accurate and informed. They did a bunch of work to remove mods (aftermarket headlamps, lowering springs, Alta airbox and filter) and return the car to stock (headliner, new struts, MC40 decals reproduced), lots of service (oil, coolant, new coolant hoses, supercharger oil, O2 sensor, new tires). They did prattle on a bit too much about how this was a special edition car, but I guess it was (1000 total made). My wife liked it when we saw one on the lot... It had all the wrong options for my tastes... would have rather spent the $ on a JCW engine package. Bought for $6k USD. Sold for $9k w/ about $2k in parts + 23 hours of labor (if I remember right)
