Just got a construction notice from Mid-Ohio. The SR-314 bridge is closed. I like the 4th option the best. Beginning in April 2013, ending in August 2013, the bridge on SR-314 that runs over I-71 will be closed. Those coming from the south or east will be most impacted, so please allow for roughly ten extra minutes travel, depending on the time of day. Here are detours from the south: o I-71 north to exit 165, left on SR-97 N, left on E. Main St. (through Lexington) and left on Steam Corners Rd., Mid-Ohio will be on your right in about one mile. o ODOT’s recommended detour is I-71 north to exit 140, turn left on SR-61 N, right on US-42 N, left on SR-314 and right on Steam Corners Rd., Mid-Ohio will be on your left in about two miles. o I-71 north to exit 151, turn left on SR-95 W, right on Bank St., right on US-42 N, left on SR-314 and right on Steam Corners Rd., Mid-Ohio will be on your left in about two miles. o I-71 north to exit 151, turn left on SR-95 W, right Co Rd 20, right on US-42 N, left on SR-314 and right on Steam Corners Rd., Mid-Ohio will be on your left in about two miles.
No problem for me either. I never use that bridge. Jim BTW: MM, you might want to tell your neighbor in case he does.
I went up yesterday and just got off at 97 and took it straight to Steam Corners Rd. It is more interstate but felt a little faster than getting off at 95 and taking 314. That track is very tricky, especially in the rain. Then scary fast when it is dry. There was a R56 GP and some guy in a R53 named Shawn who was really flying.

That spot was really tricky in the rain, you had to stay to the outside the whole time but there was a little place that was slippery the whole way across the track. Driving it wet you wanted to drive the off race line, which sounds pretty easy but your brain always wants to be on the fastest line. The second you hit the fast line all traction went away really fast. I did a ride along in the first group after the rain and it was scary how the race line was good on 90% of the track and still really slick in the other 10%. Once the track dried out it was amazing how much faster you were going. The back straight in the rain I was around 70 MPH, in the dry I was up to 100 about halfway down and at that point I just maintained instead of accelerating. The turn into Thunder Valley is the trickiest place on the track, not helped by the ominous skid marks into the wall that draw your attention right as your car comes over the crest and loses traction for a split second. If I were doing more track days I would definitely want something lighter with better brakes and tires and rear wheel drive. The S2000's looked really fun there, not terribly fast but they were steering with throttle and able to play closer to their limits at a reasonable speed.
