Just curious as to what happened to midnight on the dragon....I sat and waited then drove to deals gap to make sure I didn't miss it. Sat there until 11:40 and drove back to Fontana thinking I might catch them but still didn't see anyone. Was it cancelled or did I just completely miss it?
I usually do this drive but with the rain I passed this year. If you didn't see anyone at all on you way back from Deals Gap to Fontana then I'm thinking many others had the same idea of not pushing it in the rain this year.
Just thought it kind of odd since no other drives were cancelled because of rain. Including twilight and twisties. Oh well, maybe next year.
I saw them lining up for Twilight and Twisties. It looked as the car count was down quite a bit over other years.
It was very wet on TNT. It was fun but I am sure it was slower than most times before. We thought about driving it close to Midnight but it was wet and having to pack up the next day to leave made us decide to go to bed. Maybe it should be done on Friday night that way you have time to recoup Saturday!?
As far as I understood, it was cancelled due to the rain and putting people's safety at risk. Don't quote me though. I was bummed out because it was my favorite event last year.
There were about 11 of us down at the General Store. We waited a while but no one else showed up so we did our own little impromptu run. It was a pretty good (but from what I heard about the regular Midnight Run subdued) time.
I usually go out and film this run, but with all the rain I decided to pass. Dijon Detail Productions
I would agree that it should be moved to Friday. We went last year just to watch and it was only about 12 cars and the weather was clear. I think people are skipping this since they have to drive home the next day. We skipped it this year because of the weather but we did our own midnight run Friday night before the rain hit and I only saw about two other MINIs.
The only thing is that the Brewswap and karaoke are Friday night. Not that everybody that would do the midnight drive would be at the other events, but it cause a conflict for some.
No need for a mad face Freddy, I only brought it up because the two drives on Saturday night don't really cause any schedule conflicts with other events. After this year's Dragon, I'm leaning towards not signing up for any organized drives (except Donuts and the Burger run on Friday).
