It was good, and it benefited from a lackluster all around entertainment package: choppy game, weak commercials, half time show that had to be saved by the mercurial Bruno Mars.
As Coldplay was performing, all I could think was "omg, this is awful". So it's true, white folks can't dance and got no rhythm. Even worse than Coldplay's performance was that crowd of "fans" surrounding the stage looking so fake with stilted, scripted mechanical movements.
I can't remember a recent super bowl half time where I didn't think the same thing. The reason it sucks is different from one year to the next but there's always something that makes me cringe, hit the mute button and find a reason to leave the room for a while. Every year. Based on what I've heard and read I'm happy I missed it entirely this year.
