Just gotta tell my story. I have a 2003 S that used to light up like a Christmas tree after the car wash or heavy rain it would also go into safe mode. A real pain, until I traced a puddle in the battery bay to leaks from the rear glass at the brake light(top), license plate lights (hatch handle) and rear wiser elbow. After some silicone I no longer dread dark clouds or wash time

Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance.

There was recently another report by a member about water in the boot. I wonder if we are going to start seeing more of these types of things as our 1st Gen cars age.

My '02 is more than 10 years old now and I've been wondering the same. On the other hand, the more we hear about these issues here on M/A the more prepared we'll all be to deal with them.

I remember WAY back on MCO (now the site dealing with sewing issues) of folks having this problem, so it's not new.
