I think many of you have the idea here a bit off. The Goodwood is supposed to represent understated luxury. Hence the simple exterior design unfestooned with gaudy bits like a hood scoop. Yet the interior is packed with luxurious touches like the carpeting that is softer then a new born's bottom and leather that is matched perfectly. Should MINI tone those things down a bit to increase sales? I'd say no. It was an experiment to see if there was a market for a very luxurious MINI. Welp, in the end appears the market does not really exist at this time. Aston Martin has had no better sales with taking the Toyota iQ upmarket and calling it the Cygnet. IMNSHO this is all function of the poor state of the world wide economy. Should MINI stop with special editions? No, they are part of what makes MINI a MINI.
