    Thanks!
As much as I am nostalgic to the technology I started with, "film is dead" for me... Sold off all my film based gear with my first full frame DSLR. Never looked back. It just did not make sense cost wise shooting on film any more.
Unfortunatelly, I am not doing much of art photography and I am not a hipster... As I see it, those would be two major groups of people still using film today.

    P.S.
I was never a fan of darkrooms, smelly liquids, and working in dark... :D

I shoot film still. No I'm not a hipster really I'm not. I have a DLSR but it sucks in anything but daylight. So I've gone back to film. I use 35mm to shoot my sons football games and I a 120 medium format that I us for street photography. I have a good lab in town that does the processing, they will even do film I push. I'm a amateur so I don't have worry about making money.
Maybe I will get a 5D one day.

    Oh, mine!

I am not "accusing" anyone... I will have to take your statement "DSLR sucks for all but daylight" with BIG reserve! I don't know how you shoot and if you shoot raw or not?

On the other hand, my main issue with shooting film these days is that there is no point for most people (excluding art photographers who print for actual exhibits ). All other film users shoot film and scan for screen. I see no point doing that.

Bottom line, All the arguments about "pro or con" film are useless. Shoot what you like and what you can afford. We live in interesting times where you can enjoy both technologies of the same medium. Not for long though...

YEA I shoot in RAW. its a older DLSR Olympus. If you go higher than 800 ISO it starts to have noise. Unfortunately I thank your right we won't be able to enjoy both formats for long.

    Old fart rant below....

When I shot film it was pretty hard to change ASA, yep I'm old so none of the ISO stuff for me. If you were in the middle of a roll of Tri X & needed to push a stop for a couple of frames, you had to wind the film back into the can & be sure to leave the leader hang out. Then you had to remember to mark the film can with the number of shots taken lest you double expose everything on there you've already shot. Put another roll in to push shoot it. Re-install your first roll hoping you'd advanced the film far enough so you don't screw up what you'd already shot. Yep those were the days.

I got smart after a while & would use 2 bodies, one for regular Tri X & one with a roll for pushing.

Also in those days we didn't get to chimp at the back of the camera. We would bracket & keep a notebook with shooting settings, no EXIF on the negative. Yep those were the days.

I do love digital & when I was able to get my first DSLR I said so long to my film cameras & my darkroom. Did I mention I love my digital cameras & digital darkroom? My digital darkroom does not require darkness or mixing chemicals. My digital developer, stop bath & fixer never run out or go out of date either. :D

Sorry for my long old fart rant. Now get off my lawn!

    Short high jack.
I like both digital and film they both have there place one is not better than the other. But film teaches you to be patience, you have to think about the shot then wait to develop it.
