Today, Plant Oxford employs 3700 associates who manufacture up to 900 MINIs every day, and has contributed over 2.25 million MINIs to the tally of over 11.65 million cars that the factory has...

That's cool. The ford plant I work at just celebrated 100 years in Feb. We make about 1300 a day. Ford quality < mini quality

When just considering US made cars, Ford has come a long way and probably are the best quality of all US based car companies. IMO

:cornut: We 07 & 08 R56 owners might argue that with you. I've owned a number of Fords and have never had the Numerous Major Problems that Margi has had(08 R56 BRG MCS/JCWm). I won't go into all of her many major warranty fixes here but for her 1st 50kmi, she was a garage queen and burned up way more than her extended 50kmi warranty. I kept her because I love that little car and the way she drives. Also all of the big glitches are now fixed. To the best of my understanding, the bugs were mainly worked out and corrected by 09. Again, I'll keep my little Margi until she dies but she had a rough time of it growing up. I do remember none less than our own Nathan stating that many of the problems during these years was due to a 'lack of quality control' by MINI's subcontractors. Be that as it may, it was a rough few years for Margi and me.

Being an 08 owner I have to agree with both of you. I just have to rag on Ford, my dad always did so I followed in his footsteps. However, with the newer Ford vehicles I will admit that the quality has greatly improved.

:cornut: Drive On! I didn't hear anything offensive. As an employee, you have a right to be a little irreverent. Having been a 'Bitching Soldier', I still loved and fought for my country. SAME SAME :Thumbsup:I truly hope that all is now okay with your 08 R56. My Margi(08 R56 BRG MCS/JCWm) is all well now and 25kmi of no problems(0-50kmi=problems 50kmi-75kmi=no problems)

Well I didn't buy it until 48500 and since then I've had quite a few issues. But hoping after this weekend (Head gasket replacement) I'll be good to go for some time. At least until I get home from motd :D
