The two most anticipated cars from MINI enthusiasts are currently taking shape deep within Munich at MINI Design. The MINI Coupé and Roadster promise not only a sportier look but a sportier driving experience than any similar MINI product before them. And the best part? Both will be coming in 2011.Both cars will sport a [...] More...
Yep...that would be me. I had both local dealers start their lists and I'm first on both. Just want to hedge my bet with this as I think the Coupéster will make a really fun track car. Now I'll just need to figure out how to pay for this. M/A subscriptions anyone? Buy Nathan a Coupé fund? M/A could buy it and share it with the membership and as the major and well only shareholder of Motoring Alliance, LLC I guess I'll just have to fall on my sword and keep it my garage. Ahhh...the sacrifices I'm willing to make for the community..
You are a braver man than I... Coupe looks great as a track car, but the thought of starting the whole mod process over--brakes, ducts, suspension, etc., etc., I'm getting headaches already... An alliance membership would probably be the way to go, it did so incredibly well over at the sewing site...Might not be able to use much of the proceeds on your car, but I bet you'd make at least enough for a soda and a can of pringles for the drive home from the dealer.
I still don't know if I like that roof line and spoiler. If it wasn't for that............... Guess I'll wait to see what it looks like in person. If I like it< I may just sell the GP. I still don't know about that motor??????????????????? though.
Probably too much money for me, but if the Coopay really ends up being 200 pounds lighter than the regular hardtop, I'd be interested in a Justa Cooper version of it. My R53 is already faster than it needs to be (I'm certainly not without blame for that...) so a lightweight, extra-sporty-but-not-overpowered Justa Coopay would be great for me. Plus, maybe a Justa wouldn't have that ugly protuberance on the hatch!
I like how the red, yellow, and white/silver ones take the roofline all the way to the back. The most objectionable aesthetic on the concept, IMO, was the way the back rounded into that little flat section between the back and the roof. To be clear, I'm not commenting on any other aspect of the design (such as the toupe), just the relatonship between the end of the body and the end of the roof.
Well as much as I hate to consider getting rid of my R52, the Roadster has a real siren song for me right now.
I am on the list here for the coupe> BLUCOOPR is about modded out and ready to start over on new project. I really want a Diesel bad.
