MINI USA reported sales of 5,995 automobiles in June, an increase of 14.7 percent from the 5,228 sold in June 2011. Year-to-date, MINI sales in the U.S. are up 7.5 percent on volume of 32,059 compared to 29,816 in the first six months of 2011. “Here we are at the midpoint of 2012 with MINI achieving record sales in June and in the first half of the year,†said Jim McDowell, Vice President, MINI USA. “Tomorrow we launch the nationwide MINI Takes the States – 16 states, 13 cities – the greatest rally in our fabled history. It’s a wonderful time to be MINI.â€
So, the Clubman is getting no love. What's up with that? This makes me very sad because mine is such a great car. I glad that MINI sales as a whole are up though.
The Countryman is cleaning up! People predicted it would replace the Clubman and it's starting to look that way.
I think the Countryman is definitely hurting the Clubman. As much as I love my Clubby, if I were to be in the market again, I'd probably go Countryman over the Clubby next time.
Just took a closer look at this post. I never, ever would have imagined that Countryman sales volume YTD would be 63% of the volume of the "traditional" Hardtop. Amazing. Another big surprise to me is the relatively strong showing by the Cabrio. I would have thought that the Roadster would have taken a much larger bite out of the Cabrio market.
Countryguys outselling clubsters it's unthinkable! I sort of understand the cabrio vs the roadster. While I like the roadster the 4 seats in the cabrio are what I think is making the difference.
