MINI USA reported sales of 5,801 automobiles in May. The May 2011 sales are an increase of 37.0% over the 4,233 sold in May 2010. Year-to-date, MINI sales in the U.S. are up 46.3% on volume of 24,588 compared to 16,804 in the first five months of 2010.
"Significant" would be the answer to my question then! Over 50% of the sales were due to the Countryman......now you know why MINI keeps introducing new variations on the theme. The one thing not answered by those figures is how many of those Countryman sales would have been to another MINI model, and how many are "conquest" sales or new folks coming to the brand. Still, good to know the CM is successful, just as we knew it would be...... I still think it's ugly tho.........no offence to those who own them, it's just not to my taste....
Must work for the government, they do math differently. Using the right side of the breakdown for totals: Hardtops = 51.31% Convt. = 8.58% Clubman = 12.77% Countryman = 27.33%
