Had they put clear vinyl for a windshield one could drive around like that. :D

Does seem like a good idea for folks who park outside in hail country.

I need one of those right now, I have a 100 ft tall pin oak tree in the front yard and it's been dropping acorn bombs for a month now! I've found two dings in the roof so far.....:(

After watching that video, I think the comforter is going to be significantly less effective. ;)

I had that issue at one time, now there is only a stump (Stihl). No more sky bombs.

Might use this in the parking lot at work. Could protect my baby from getting any more dings.

Great gadget and I guess if you live in an area that is prone to hail you can justify it, but to me it takes up an awful lot of trunk space. The quick view of the Vette hatch makes it look like it will fill the trunk of a Mini, as much of a trunk as they have to start with!!

I think they are going to a Metroplex MINI meeting (Dallas, TX area) in the very near future.

They sell the cover with a corresponding severe weather alert... you log a few phone numbers with them and a few zip codes. They send you alerts when hail/severe weather forecasts hit your registered zip codes and you run out to deploy the cover.

An inflatable air bag for your car...
    With my luck....
I would hear of a storm comming (have lived in MO and CO so have seen some crazy ones), inflate it....the run for cover...and how long do you think it would take before somebody was filming themselves with a phone doing crazy stunts with the airbag...lol...a u-tube jack-azz style stunt in waiting.....
