    Mini Thunder is an HPDE (High Performance Driving Event) held at Thunderhill Raceway Park, Willows, CA. It is broken up into Beginner, Intermediate, Advance, and RacePrep/Coaches Each group gets 5 ea. 20-minute track sessions followed by 20 minute classroom sessions. All beginners must go out with coaches in their cars. We have nearly 50 experienced and qualified coaches to handle all the groups.

    Students are taught the techniques for driving a Mini on the racetrack The apexes, braking points, set up, exits, etc.

    Our day is supported with turn workers, grid control, tow trucks, emergency vehicles, medical, communications, flagging etc.

    MINI Thunder is now considered the premier Mini trackday event in north America. It is a "Mini" only event which means only Mini Coopers of all types are the only cars entered You may see other cars on track but those are the coaches and instructors.

    Last year we had over 200 Minis on track and each year we grow the numbers. We have entrants from San Diego, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington.

    This event is held every year during the Presidents Day weekend in Feb and so far...knock on wood..it has been sunny and dry every year. Please drop by the registration page, and our Facebook Page for further information.

    Thanks for the info Norm.

    I've heard about his event for the past 4 years, and while it is a bit far for me to travel to at this time, I've seen and heard it is not to be missed.

    This is an outstanding event for everyone! We hope to try and make it again this year, and if the casino night is still the hub of after hours fun, im sure my wife will have no objectios to making the trip. I'm think'n I'll trailer my Classic up if we go.

    After having to cancel my registration for MINI Thunder IV, I definitely plan on being there for the next one. A couple of our club members head down from Oregon every year and tell me how much fun it is. I can't wait to get down there and check it out for myself.

    I contacted Norm and the registration is not closed for beginners and intermediates for the 2014 event!

    Just a reminder that MINI Thunder V registration is now open. We will be limiting groups sizes to 35 Minis, so get your registration in soon. We are holding the cost the same as last year.
