hi I'm new i just got my first mini cooper s and need to get the turn signal to work front and rear on the left side the marker works on the side checked the front bulb and the fuse didn't get to check the rear bulb yet don't know to much about the cars yet but i would love to learn can anyone help or maybe some things to check before i just start chasing wires thanks
Welcome to the forum! What year is your MINI? When you say "the marker works on the side", are you referring to the turn signal on the fender forward of the door? Does it blink at a normal or fast rate? Does the emergency flasher work on the left side? Swap the bulbs between the left and right side to verify whether the bulb is good. The turn signals don't have their own fuse. The turn signal bulbs are connected directly to a computer controller, which performs the flashing. Unfortunately, a malfunctioning computer is a possible cause of the problem.
I swapped bulbs and they work the side signal flashes normal the 4 ways flash normal on the right side and the left side finder flashes but the left front and rear don't And it is a 03 mini s
Does the top bulb in the taillight light up with the brakes? It normally shouldn't (the brake light is the bottom bulb), but there was a popular electrical modification that also lights up the top bulb for safety. This modification is believed to cause electrical problems in the lighting electronics.
