Mini might have finely made a good move.... Adding some of the most common connected items as "included" imo was a good move... They keep saying they are selling a premium car....so the basic items included on a Korean ecnobox should be included in a MINI....
I agree with Dave plus a premium performance car should not be out powered or out handled by it's competition. Also if people perceive that the cars quality does not match or exceed it's competition you can have all the big screen and electronic do dads you want but you are not going to sell many units.
Yeah....well...we k is how that turned out for VW..... But things like Bluetooth are BASIC items that a "stripper" car with a BASE radio gets in most makes..... Similarly....to offer the big screen as STD...makes sense imo, especially if they are going to have to offer a backup camera in the next year or so as a "required" item in the US.
Unfortunately 99% of folks never use the power... They shop numbers...and so stoked the tech can sell the car... How many non-s Cooper cars with the JCW appearance package are getting sold? Imo it does look good....and the way most drive....they might not notice. Me...I chose the other way...I usually drove a sleeper... All go...no show...bird crap Be all!!:cornut:
Damn.... Whut the H happened with cars... We gotta have big screens in the dash... We gotta have backup cameras.... We gotta have WIFI... We gotta have blueteeth.... We gotta have butt warmers.... We gotta have mood lighting.... NO........ We don't gotta have any of that stuff...
Yes, I sure miss the days when your choice of options were AM radio, white walls, fender skirts and full size wheel covers.
You would think that they would offer a stripped version for those who wan to race it. All the go fast parts and none of the other horseshit that would only add weight.
Lol...half the trucks I drive still have them....all the freightliner "classics" and all the "Columbia's" had them 2011.... Sometimes in the rain they are even nice as a non-smoker..but the fact is they make a VERY easy spot to break into vehicle and the gaskets tend to leak and whistle....super smooth is the new default...and extra gaskets and seals add parts and cost...
They do...in Europe... The MINI ONE.... We don't get it in the USA ...too entry level. While it is "just a cooper" it is a back to the basics car ...a "stripper" MINI. But not "premium" enough I bet for the us image... Here, we get "high class strippers!!". :cornut:
"High Class US Strippers" = Because fat lazy Americans that need every tech toy, BT, Wi-Fi, Navi and too many nanny's to just drive a basic car. :mad2::mad2::mad2:
