PITTSBURGH — A tractor-trailer fire caused major traffic delays Friday afternoon in the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Pittsburgh. The fire was reported just before 1 p.m. Friday on the shoulder of the road in Plum Borough, about halfway between the Monroeville/Pittsburgh exit at mile marker 57 and the Allegheny Valley exit at mile marker 48. Sources said the accident may have been caused by a reckless driver. Police said a driver may have sideswiped the car carrier, puncturing its fuel tank. Diesel spilled the length of a football field. The car carrier was hauling Mini Coopers, and the blaze burned every car on board. All westbound traffic was halted for a time, though one lane was open by 2:30 p.m., turnpike officials reported heavy delays. Sure Dave, you make "light" of it, but exactly where were you 1 p.m. last Friday? You're just lucky you got there before me.
If memory serves me correctly, Dave was sitting in my son's R53 passenger seat in the driveway of the Motor On house with his laptop hooked up and reading codes. (that's our story and we're sticking to it)
Yup that what I was doing and removing his rear hatch panel to find a corroded connector causing a tail light issues from water leakage.
