I've been watching How It's Made episoldes on Netflix. Episode 19 of Season 5 shows how MINI seats are made. The manufacture date shown on one of the seats is 2007, and they are R56 style seats. I enjoyed it. I thought someone here might as well. The compnay making them is apparently Faurecia, or at least that's what is written on the shirt of every employee in the place. Faurecia makes parts for quite a few manufacturers in most manufacturing countries. Notes around the factory in the video are written in English, so I suppose this is a plant in the UK.
Did they show any seat air bag testing? I think it would be cool to watch a seat blow up. Yeah I like blowing small stuff up.:lol::lol::lol::devil:
I'm teaching Steering and Suspension classes this semster at the college, one of the things we do in class is blow up an air bag, I'll see if I can video it this year! We'll be doing that in about 2 weeks.
Their Banbury plant does make seats and it's just north of Oxford. It would make sense for them to be made there for MINI.
The video in question... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4xMpcY1NoA]Funny Accident with Airbag - Blow up ur mind - YouTube[/ame]
A compilation of stupidity. There is some NSFW language in these. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcbAjopKLOs&hd=1]Best Of Airbag Pranks - YouTube[/ame]
Seeing videos like that is why I cringe when I see passengers with their feet on the dash or pets on their lap.
