Our goal for this year’s event is to minimize costs while maximizing enjoyment. To that end we have worked very hard to secure the best available lodging at the least amount of cost.
Winter Park Resorts has extended to MITM participants a wide range of room options at exceptional prices in four excellent locations. Having personally inspected these room packages I can honestly say that these rooms are the best we have ever had available at the best price we have ever been offered.
We will soon have links to the Resort on our website as well as information about camping and lodging within the town of Winter Park. For those of you wishing to secure your Resort rooms now you may contact the toll-free group reservations line for Winter Park Resort at (866) 239-3989. Be sure to tell them you are with MINIs in the Mountains 2010 to receive these special rates.

Winter Park Resort is situated on the north side of Berthoud Pass at an elevation of 9,100 ft. The resort offers four lodging locations, shopping, restaurants, bars, plenty of parking and beautiful vistas.

The Vintage Hotel is located on the west side of Highway 40 off Winter Park Drive. There is a free gondola lift from the hotel to the main resort (about a 1/2 mile). Winter Park Mountain Lodge is located on the east side of Highway 40 a mile closer to the town of Winter Park and about 1-1/2 miles from the main resort.

MINI5280 recommends either Zephyr, Fraser Crossing or Founders Pointe for those participants wishing to be as close to the action as possible. The Vintage Hotel would be our next choice since there is plenty of parking and a free gondola ride. The Winter Park Mountain lodge, though the least expensive option, does require a little driving to get to the event site.

We have some new and exciting activities planned for this year not to mention new ride routes, a new town to explore and reduced cost. This should all roll-up to result in a fun and memorable MITM for all participants

So keep an eye on our official website at:

Get yourselves into Zephyr, it will be the closest to all the fun. Starbucks is right out the door for those in need of an early jolt.

I noted a number of hot-tubs for guest usage and good local eating spots. A small grocery is on site near the Zephyr.

I spent some time touring/evaluating the rooms, they are very good and fresh. WP is very pet friendly and there will be a ton of stuff going on in WP this week.

Each of the condo/room units has parking available under the condo complex, it is included in the room cost, so if you don't like to leave your MINI out, you don't have too.

MINI driving/events, biking and hiking will be great. The town WP has some great shops and restaurants for us too.:)

Is the MINI parking on the map for the events only or is it where we will park overnight? Just wondering because looking at Winter Parks website they make it sound like there is no parking close to the lodges.

The parking structure is where all of us will be parking. If you want to park under the top deck you may or there is covered parking at Founders Point and Fraser Crossing if you book room there. Generally most of us will be parking on the top deck of the parking structure labeled "MINI Parking" on the above map.

I just booked my room. FYI, they will charge your card 25% at time of booking with the balance due on July 13, 2010.

Good to know Jeffrey, thanks for sharing.
If you haven't booked your room yet you need to get started. With MTTS in town I think a lot of people will be choosing Winter Park over Denver. Its only an hour away from Denver and the view is better. Plus our rates are really good.

Got my room booked today at the Vintage. :) So we can't park at the hotel right? We have to actual park at the MINI parking? (Just trying to make sure so I don't have a surprise when I get there...)

You can park at the Vintage and ride the 5 minute gondola to the main event, you can walk the 1/2 mile down the hill or you can also park in the parking structure near the main event happenings.
The Vintage actually has a huge parking lot - 1,500 cars or more can park there.
