    So here's the idea ......

It sure look's like fun when Metroplex MINI has their dealer supported DIY. Apparently that doesn't work here in Columbus:mad5: Soooooo..... maybe I can help??

Just wanted to throw this out to see if there is any local interest.

I suspect there might be a few MINI goodies that may be showing up during the holidays. It's always nice to be able to do an install in a warm building...... and maybe I can help.:cornut:

I can provide the warm building, lighting, power, and air tools. I don't have a large selection of metric tools though, so BYO.

I probably have room for 6-7 MINI's in my shop (let's keep it MINI based, no airplanes, trains or busses):lol::lol:. You would need to provide wheel ramps and low profile jacks if needed.

If you want to do your own oil change, I can handle the oil disposal (I have a guy that takes my old oil and uses it for heating in his shop).

The work could start Saturday morning, but would need to be completed sometime in the late afternoon (Gotta be able to run my business on Monday). I know MAG has their parts department open for a quick emergency run and Aaron at Outmotoring has been known to have a few MINI goodies in his basement available on a Saturday.

We could even all contribute for a pizza delivered lunch.

Maybe even get the Silverbacks to impart some of their DIY knowledge to the grasshoppers.:ihih:

Good idea, bad idea, any takers????

If there is a lot of interest, with more than I can fit in my building, I'm certainly open to doing this over a couple of weekends.

Oh..... nothing in it for me other than a good time with my MINI buds.:D

    Chuck

    Ha.....
Looking at the google map, you're only a few inches to the right. Nothing a MINI can't handle.

What a very generous offer Chuck. I'd take you up on it, but I think all of my mods are already done on BLU BRIT. I'll sure come over to eat pizza & watch young guys learn how to twist wrenches. My advice is free, resistance is futile. ;)

Sounds like fun. Not sure if I'm getting any parts this season, but would be nice to hang out and lend a hand. Thanks for the very generous offer!

    Ha....
Sure, I'll bust out the welders..... Just remember the key word "DIY", with the emphasis on the "Y" part.:D

Also, not sure anyone has low enough jack stands for your MINI.:lol::lol:

I too would be all over this if I had something to do! lol.

Only thing im still trying to get done is putting on some narrower tires! Still scouring the Classifieds since Id rather not pay retail on snows lol.

I could use an impact for approximately 30 seconds if its available since I cannot get these darned top nuts off my old coilovers :cryin:

That is a great idea lol (the beer too)

Many dont have a place to get thier winter / cold weather detailing fix.

I just got one of those nice sunflower propane heaters today, and aside from being rather dangerous it worked out well letting me wash the car 'indoors'

If people don't want to DIY, I'd love to do an old fashion mod party. I can bring parts and tools to do almost anything.
