Hope I'm not breaking any rules. This is my first post. I've had my '06 MCS for a month now (manual - 36K miles). It was a pre-certified car, but I was surprised when I checked the oil that it was so black. Also, the A/C wasn't working, but dealer replaced a bad valve and recharged it for free. I got an OEM filter and Mobil-1 and changed the oil myself - something I haven't done on a car in over 15 years. I love my mini and really want to take care of it.
    Any tips would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Sounds like your off to a good start, good oil, the right filter and a bit of warranty work to boot! ;)

A fresh oil change is a great way to start your ownership, getting familiar with the underhood aspects and where everything is located and how it works. You have much to learn, grasshopper..... :D
