For those not on the MOTD Mail List. Here are some updates for the latest happenings for the 2011 MOTD • Chad and Detroit tuned will be bringing back the Brewswap. • Karaoke night will follow the Brewswap once again. • The Wine Tasting Night will be back after the Welcome Dinner. • Day Drives: If you want to host a day drive, let me know. I'm working on the calendar and hope to have it public towards early November. For any first timers, I'll be more than happy to help you set up your drive and get you going. • AutoXCross will be coming back after taking a 2 year break. It will be held at the William Blount High School in Maryville, TN. Just working on getting a possible sponsor and need someone to lead the pack over to the event. • We will have a dedicated 20' x 20' tent where folks can reserve a time slot and host a "do-it-yourself" demonstration. Some ideas might be: Oil Change Clinic, Tire Plugging Clinic, Basic Electrical Clinic, a Lighting Clinic, etc. Now we just need some volunteers with some knowledge to make this happen. Let me know if you would like to host a DIY session. • Jack Rowland aka MINIBee will host two "Newbie Orientations", a "Zipline" drive and a "Twisties at Twilight" run on Saturday night. • The Mrs. and I will be hosting another day drive to "Deep Creek" and then lunch at the "Historic Jarrett House" • Fontana plans on adding a outdoor amphitheater in front of the Rec. Hall. It's slated to start in November and finish by the time we get there. This may affect our vendor layout, but we'll make it work either way.
Can't wait to make it for my 2nd Dragon! The DIY tent sounds pretty promising. Can't wait to see what gets lined up for it.
I was in my local Krogers, wandering down the beer section when I spotted this scene. I laughed out loud and was suddenly nostalgic for MOTD.
Skipped Miatas at the Gap this past year for the first time in 13 years, but wouldn't dream of missing MOTD next year. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
That sounds like a deal to me and I look forward to it. I hope to meet a lot of folks this year, as last year I was sort of overwhelmed by the whole thing, being my first trip. Jim
My thoughts EXACTLY- waaaaaaay too much to take in first time down. I'd like to hang at "base camp" more this year and meet more people.
This year I have a room at Fontana, where last year I was in Robbinsville. I think that made a difference, for sure. We really do need to figure out a way to identify people once there. I would feel funny walking up to everyone, grabbing their neck pass and trying to read their user name. Jim
LOL- no kidding. The hubby and I are at the lodge this time... we have a cabana at the pool. With any luck, it may be warm enough to swim? :ihih:
I'm in the Lodge too, so I am sure our paths will cross. I wish my wife could go too, but alas we can not both be away from home over night, let alone several days. :frown2: Jim
The hubby's bringing his car as well this time, so keep an eye open for a non-MINI that's hanging around
