Last week we had a day to spend with the all new 2014 F56 MINI Cooper and Cooper S. During that time we roamed the mountain passes and ocean front roads to bring you our first thoughts on MINI’s most important car since the launch of the R50 in 2001. But we also wanted to […] (visit MotoringFile for the full article) More...
Surprise suprise it's Fantastic. Watch the video and you will see what I mean. Oh and FYI he said it's no R53 as a bad thing.
No, they didn't write the script, but they did pay for it. Gabe had a very nice, all expenses paid trip to Puerto Rico.
I can't get over how much OVERHANG there is on the nose compared to Gen1 cars. I know, I know - pedestrians - whatever. Did they have to put a COUCH in there? Hay soos.
I remember WAY back in the day, when they exported the Lambo Countach to the US. It had these two really ugly, black "bumperettes" on the front bumper to comply with US crash standards....Oh it just killed the look of that car....
It's the Jimmy Durante look. In this age of political correctness, BMW took it upon themselves to build cars with big noses.
Maybe it would not look as bad with the bulldog front end from a Paceman. The way leaned back look is not working.
The front looks better in the darker colors, I think. Someone said it was a "nice BMW" and that works for me.
The F56 Justa, Jim is the best looker... At any color chosen.... Is this the first time a company skanked their halo offering with their most economical option.... If I were to get one.... It would be a nice Justa.... Jim... If.....
I know what you mean MM, but I honestly don't abject to the "S" front end that much, as long as I don't have to get those sill headlights that look like "eyes". :eek6: Now, just for my information. If the wheels are still in the same location on the F56, as on the R56, then the nose being a tad longer should not change the handling. It would be looks only I would have to guess. Am I wrong?
I forgot to add... in the middle of winter. Looking at it from BMW's standpoint, it was a huge win. The review will help sell more than a few F56's. Compare the modest cost of Gabe's trip to the expense of real advertising dollars. It will only encourage BMW to upgrade his accommodations next time.
Depends.... We'll see what they do with the output.... Liked it when the wheels were pushed to the corners.... Bulldog stance... Goldfish stance..... Not so much....
