On Friday May 25, we will make the run up MT EVANs and then go over to Georgetown to help them open the Guanella Pass Summit Road. MEET at McDonalds. 6:45am for MT. In the past, we've met at the McDonald's at I-70 & Evergreen Parkway at 6:45 AM. Wheels rolling at 7:00 AM (promptly). Technically, Mt Evans road opens at 7:00 AM, so we want to get there shortly after that time. Makes it easier for us to stop along the way up and get photos without blocking traffic. I haven't been over Guanella Pass in 12 years or so. As I remember it a lot of it was gravel road. Has it been paved since then? Wish I was out there to drive the high roads with you.
Will find out at the GT event, they say they have paved it to the summit and beyond. Not sure about that, perhaps it will be part of the MITM Countryman drive. You would be welcome to come out and drive with us. I will let you know if it is MINI safe. :cornut:
