The 10th anniversary of MINI TAKES THE STATES is on track to start in Atlanta, GA on July 9, 2016! What better way to celebrate MINI’s legendary racing heritage, from Monte Carlo in 1964 to Dakar in 2015, than with a lap at Road Atlanta where the MINI John Cooper Works Racing Team just celebrated a podium finish. From Atlanta, we’ll motor 4,000+ miles across America crossing the finish line at the exclusive Thermal Club located in the desert of Palm Springs, CA. Access to this member’s only motorsports mecca gives you bragging rights to be among the first MINIs to motor on this private pavement track. With instructor-driven hot laps plus the chance to drive your MINI to a checkered flag finish, The Thermal Club promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Join the MINI community as we go TRACK TO TRACK from July 9 – July 23, 2016. From pit lanes to cheeky pit stops along the way, MINI TAKES THE STATES will introduce you to new friends, inspire you to go off the beaten track and leave you with a boot full of unforgettable memories.
What tracks will MINI be visiting? Now that the registration is open and there is more information on the route we can start to figure out the tracks. Even for areas that do not have a track listed for the day as of yet. Atlanta - Atlanta Motor Speedway - Tis a shame they are using an oval instead of one of the best road courses in the nation at Road Atlanta. Charlotte - Charlotte Motor Speedway - Wait, arn't we in MINI's that turn both left and right. Another Oval. oy Richmond - TBA but my guess is Richmond International Raceway. Gooly jeeps, a D shaped oval. Didn't anyone think that VIR might be a heck of lot more fun. Baltimore - TBA My guess is Summit Point in WVA. It's on the way to Pittsburgh, sorta, and is the closest track to Baltimore. Pittsburgh - TBA Guessing Pittsburgh Int’l Race Complex. A road course Detroit - TBA I have no guesses here. The photo shown look like an autocross setup. St. Ignace, MI - No track here. Think this is just a fun stop. Green Bay - Road America? We can only hope! Minneapolis - No idea Sioux Falls - No idea Sturgis - No idea Cheyenne - No idea Park City - Utah Motorsports Campus is my best guess Las Vegas - Spring Mountain would make the most sense to me. Palm Springs - The Thermal Club
